Mission
Guided by the Bible and teachings of Jesus the Christ, our program strives to remind the children who they really are and to provide them with opportunities to share their magnificence.

Classes
Classes are grouped by age and adapted to the individual needs of the children.

  • 4 yrs old through Kindergarten
  • 1st and 2nd grade
  • 3rd through 5th grade

Lessons are based on Unity's five basic principles

  • The only true power in the Universe is God; and God is good
  • The Christ is alive in me and in everything
  • Through the power of God, my thoughts can change my life
  • I can choose to let go of hurtful things. I can choose to think loving thoughts.
  • I can talk to God. I can listen to God. I can use the truth I am learning.

Lesson plans are experiential and include music, meditation, laughter, building relationships, conversation, crafts, games, dancing, play- acting, and prayer. Through these mediums of creative expression, we allow spirit to express through us, and we experience our divinity as co-creators with God. Curriculum materials are available to those wanting more information.

7-8:30 PM Wednesdays  - Leader Position(s) Open

10:00 - 11:00 am Sundays - Co-Leaders - Caroline Wright & Alyssa Marks

The Uniteens are children from age 11-13. Our mission is two-fold: spiritual growth and enjoy one another's company. This year we are using the lesson plans from the Association on Unity Churches called "The Quest". There are numerous activities for each session, divided into starting, adventures of the soul, adventures of the mind and then a closing. Throughout our quest we will be mapping our progress. Sometimes a Uniteen brings something that is very special to share with the group.

Y.O.U. (Youth of Unity)

7-9:00 pm Wednesdays  Pam Carlson, Tom Kregel, Jesse Fearing & Shawn Hockett
Y.O.U. is a group of 14-18 year olds.

Mission

  • Discover more about themselves and their spiritual beliefs
  • Grow personally in their connection with a higher power or God
  • Learn the teachings and principles of Unity
  • Have fun!

We accomplish this in many ways:

  • At our Wednesday night meetings we sing, meditate, have lessons and take time to get to know one another and become friends. We also have Heart Talks, to share our journey with and to learn to really listen to one another. Most of our lessons come from "The Quest". We are also encouraged to ask questions of ourselves, one another, our sponsors, our minister, the Bible and other spiritual writings, our purpose - just about anything. We question to increase our awareness, but not to judge others by the answers that are right for us. We believe we are all connected in spirit and love, and that that connection is constant and it is good.
  • We learn the value of giving to others by doing service hours, in the center and in the community.
  • We hold fund-raisers to earn money for Rally.
  • We go to two Regional Rallys per year (June and October) and one sub-regional rally (April) to connect with other Y.O.U. ers grom the Great Lakes Region. Rallys provide a wonderful, safe, and beautifully spiritual way for us to learn about God,ourselves, our friends, and all of life. We connect heart-to-heart and soul-to-soul with other teens and make life-long friends

Friends

I Like and Love my friends

I like and love my friends

I show my friends I like them

When I am with them.

I show my friends I love them

with silent prayer when

they are in need.

Thank you God for my friends.

Y.O.U. Monthly Prayer

I Am the Light of Love

I see the joy of life.  I allow life to unfold in the most beautiful way by finding joy and love of living.  I find the possibilities that are mine by being open to the simple pleasures of life. I give love to myself and others knowing it will return many times over.

Closing Prayer

The light of God surrounds us,

The love of God enfolds us,

The power of God protects us,

And the presence of God watches over us.

Wherever we are, God is.  And all is well.
