Jacqueline Maribel Perez Ramos is 7 years old. Her birthday is May 10, 2001. She lives in San Juan Del Obispo in Guatemala. She completed her first year of school in August 2008 because of Unity of the Valley's sponsorship. She has written 2 letters to us which came through a translator. In her letters, she greets her sponsors" very affectionately" "con mucho carino" and "May God bless you.""y que Dios los vendiga" She likes to draw and paint and hopes to become a teacher.
Jacqueline's family income is $91.00 per month. She has a mother and father, four brothers and two sisters. The family rents their land and its size in square meters is 10.0 by 10.0. Their home is walls made from fiberlite sheets with a roof of steel and a floor of concrete slab. They have no electricity, use candles for light, and cook on a wood stove. They borrow water from a neighbor and have an outhouse for a bathroom.
With Unity of the Valley's sponsorship, the family has received many services including medicine, medical and dental care, education, clothing and school supplies. Jacqueline is the second youngest child in her family. Her other siblings have also been able to attend school with Unity of the Valley's sponsorship.
In 2008, Unity of the Valley Rainbow Circles began learning about Common Hope, Guatemala, and Jacqueline.
About every 3 months, the Sunday morning group of children wrote letters and drew pictures for Jacqueline which were sent through Common Hope through a translator to her. Because of the translating process, letters are written on a special form we have available in the Rainbow Circles classroom. We will only have letters from Jacqueline about two times each year through Common Hope. Rainbow Circles has also sent photographs of our group to her with our letters. Rainbow Circles children have also remembered Jacqueline and her family in prayer through the year on Sunday mornings.
